We are a family business, find out more about our employees below.
In Somerset
Gary - HETAS engineer and sales assistant. Gary's Father used to manufacture stoves and Gary has worked as an engineer, fitter and technical expert for years. Gary is now based in our showroom and warehouse in Somerset where he oversees fitting work, organises deliveries and deals with technical enquiries.
Ann - Married to Gary, Ann works primarily as a sales assistant in Somerset. While not a qualified engineer she has picked up most things over the years. Ann has been known to do the odd delivery, re assemble stoves and even help out at installations.
Bethany - Gary and Ann's eldest daughter, and Colin's God-daughter. Bethany has grown up with stoves for as long as she can remember. She is based in Somerset where she works as a general sales assistant, answering the e-mails and helping with delivery schedules.
John - Gary and Ann's eldest son, John helps out on Saturdays in Somerset, manoeuvring stoves and organising the warehouse for the week ahead.
In Hampshire
Colin - Manager of Harridge Stoves Southern (in Hampshire) since it first opened some years ago. Colin deals in sales, organises fitting work and oversees the company accounts.
In West Sussex
Alan - A retired fitter from Somerset, Alan travels down to Cowfold to open our showroom on Saturdays. Friendly and helpful, Alan also does some deliveries to help out Rob and Wayne particularly in the busy Winter time.
On The Road
Robert - Gary's younger brother and our main driver for the last ten years, Rob usually delivers across the South and East of England. Over the years he has come to know stoves as well as any of us, with some experience of fitting, service calls and sales. Rob is also an occasional sales assistant and covers when Colin is away in our Hampshire showroom.
Wayne - Our driver for the Midlands, the North of England and Wales, Wayne has been with the company for a couple of years and known us much longer. He prides himself on getting there ahead of schedule and achieving even difficult deliveries.
Please contact one of our branches to make an order. Telephone 01749 347272 or 02380 675757, or pop in to your local branch (see Contact Us for details).
Unfortunately we cannot take orders over the internet at this time. A stove is a large purchase and it is usually wise to speak to an experienced person before choosing the right one for you.
We accept Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Cheques and Cash. Cheques are only accepted with a current cheque guarantee card.
Stoves are not only heavy items, they are also fragile and deliveries need to be approached carefully by experienced people. This is why our deliveries are carried out by our own drivers in our own vans. This means that the drivers have been trained by us to move stoves and are trusted by us, they do not arrive in impractically large vans or lorries and they do not let customers down by forgetting or postponing deliveries.
The vast majority of stoves are kept in stock here (we have hundreds) and our delivery process is simple; at the end of each week we look through our orders, organise routes and telephone customers with a date for delivery (we will guess the time if asked but obviously cannot be precise because every delivery differs and the roads are unpredictable). If you have a particular date in mind please mention it, so that we can try to get it to you by then. If your stove is not in stock we will make you aware of that when you place your order and let you know an estimated time of arrival.
We deliver for free to mainland England or Wales. Unfortunately at present only mainland deliveries can be attempted and we are unable to deliver to Scotland.
Drivers are contracted to deliver to the nearest hard flat standing, but you will find them helpful. Please ensure that someone is on hand to receive the delivery and lend a hand where appropriate. Please also advise us if there are steps which the stove will have to go up or down.
We encourage customers to unpack and check their stove with the driver on its arrival. In the unlikely event that a stove is faulty or damaged it should be refused and not signed for. Drivers are familiar with the stoves and will let you know if there is anything unusual about yours! This is almost never the case. Items which have been signed for will be deemed to have been received in good condition.

Items that are no longer required must be returned to one of our branches and are subject to a 20% re-stocking charge, and carriage charge (if applicable). If items are returned in their original packaging and in perfect condition we will try to relax this charge to 10%. Unfortunately it is not possible to return special orders or damaged items.
You must bring your original receipt with you for a refund or exchange.
We aim to offer you the best price in the marketplace.
Prices are subject to change, however we aim to keep our website up to date and to honour the prices published here at all times.
All our stoves come with one years guarantee on the body of the stove. Some guarantees are considerably longer provided certain conditions are met, please telephone us for further information. Guarantees do not include consumable items.
In addition to this Harridge Stoves has a fairness policy. We aim to be fair to our suppliers, customers and staff at all occasions (so just because it doesn't fit in the right box doesn't mean we won't help you!)
Please contact your local branch to find out what is available second hand.
